The First Blog Post

Wow. Let’s Chat.

I feel like I blinked, and somehow my entire life changed.

If you’ve been here for a while, you know Hide and Stoned has grown up right alongside me. What started as a little jewelry business when I was just a girl with a lot of creativity, a lot of ideas, and absolutely no clue where any of it would take me has followed me through some of the biggest chapters of my life.

And now, somehow, we’re here.

First, I graduated from Oklahoma State University. A sentence that still feels crazy to type. Oklahoma gave me some of my absolute best friends, memories I’ll carry forever, more lessons than I can count, and a version of myself that I don’t think I would have found anywhere else.

Then came the terrifying question every college graduate gets hit with:

Okay… now what?

I packed up my life, took a chance on myself, and headed west.

I came to Los Angeles for an internship, ready to learn, work my ass off, meet people, and figure out where I belonged in this crazy industry. That internship ended up turning into something bigger than I could have imagined when I accepted a full-time role here in LA.

So now I’m officially an Oklahoma State graduate, living in Los Angeles, working full time in fashion, building a life in a completely new city…

…and through every single one of those changes, there has been this little voice in the back of my head saying:

What about Hide and Stoned?

And lately, that voice has gotten LOUD.

I’m More Drawn to This Brand Than Ever

For a little while, I think Hide and Stoned existed alongside my life.

Now, I want it to be a much bigger part of it.

Moving to Los Angeles has completely reignited something in me. Being surrounded by fashion, stylists, creatives, brands, people taking risks, people building things from nothing, it has reminded me exactly why I started Hide and Stoned in the first place.

But more than anything, this season of life has reminded me how important it is to trust where the Man Upstairs is leading me.

I definitely don’t have every answer. I don’t know exactly what Hide and Stoned will look like a year from now, where this career will take me, or what opportunities are waiting around the corner. But I’m learning every single day to stop trying to control every little detail and instead follow the path God is putting in front of me.

And right now, I feel more drawn to this brand than I ever have before.

I love creating.

I love making something and seeing someone else put it on and make it completely their own.

I love the idea that a piece of jewelry can become part of someone’s uniform, their vacation memories, their favorite concert outfit, their first date, their girls’ trip, their everyday stack, or that one necklace they somehow never take off.

And more than anything, I want more people to experience Hide and Stoned.

Not just people who have known me forever.

Not just Oklahoma.

Not just friends of friends.

Everyone.

Hide and Stoned Is Growing Up Too

This next chapter feels different.

I don’t want to lose what has always made Hide and Stoned special. The handmade pieces. The personality. The slightly unhinged ideas. The jewelry you probably won’t see everyone else wearing. The feeling that there’s an actual person behind the brand making it, packing it, obsessing over it, and getting way too excited when she sees you wearing it.

That will always be Hide and Stoned.

But I’m dreaming bigger now.

I want new collections. New materials. New collaborations. New cities. New people wearing H&S. Bigger shoots. Better packaging. Events. Pop-ups. Pieces that make you stop mid-scroll and say, “Wait… where is that from?”

I want Hide and Stoned to become the brand I’ve always known it could be.

And weirdly enough, I think I needed to grow into the person capable of building it.

So… What Happens Now?

A lot.

I’m learning more about the fashion industry every single day. I’m meeting people who inspire me. I’m paying attention to what feels exciting again. I’m experimenting. I’m designing. I’m making mistakes. I’m changing my mind approximately 47 times a day.

And through all of it, I’m trying to wake up every day, work hard, stay grateful, and follow the Man Upstairs wherever He decides to take me next.

I’m also letting myself dream about Hide and Stoned without immediately following every idea with “but is that realistic?”

Because nine years ago, starting a jewelry company probably wasn’t realistic either.

Yet here we are.

There are so many things I want to show you. There are pieces I want to make, ideas scribbled everywhere, collaborations I want to chase, people I want to work with, and a whole new era of Hide and Stoned that I can finally start to see clearly.

This brand has been with me through high school, college, graduation, internships, moving across the country, starting my career, and becoming an entirely different version of myself.

And I have a feeling we’re just getting started.

So whether you bought something from me years ago, discovered us yesterday, shared a post, wore your H&S until it practically became part of your body, or have just quietly followed along:

thank you.

Seriously.

You have allowed this crazy little idea of mine to keep existing long enough for me to figure out just how badly I want to see what it can become.

I have no clue exactly what’s next.

But I trust the One who does.

Oklahoma will forever be a part of Hide and Stoned.

But now?

We’re in LA, baby.

And I’m ready to see just how far we can take this thing.

xx,

Ry
